Jared! Congratulations!!! Just saw your status update on Facebook, then I saw Tieshas blog post. then I put 2 and 2 together and figured out that you passed the bar! Hooray. That is so cool! So are we going to hang out in May when I come out? I am not really sure what my plans are aside from going to see Wilco with Brian. I guess I need to figure things out soon. Right now I am enjoying some good times with Camille in North West Germany. We have had a blast and we are starting to miss the kids. But mostly we are having a blast. Anyway, I guess this is starting to be a pretty long blog comment so I will stop typing now. Later...
You are my most awesome brother-in-law! Congratulations!!!!!! We are very proud of you for the work you have put in and the sacrafices you have made to get to this point. Love you!
We knew you were going to pass it even before you took it! We're so excited that your family will be joining us as New Mexicans and that you'll only be a 2 hr. + drive away (again).
Jared and Tiesha have been married for 17 1/2 wonderful years. Jared thinks Tiesha is awesome and incredibly funny. They have three great kids and live in ROSWELL, New Mexico.
Jared has opened his own law practice (Kallunki Law, P.C.), and is extremely busy!!! He does a little bit of everything, but mostly family law and criminal law. Tiesha is a Reading Coach at Washington Avenue Elementary and gets to work with the K-3 teachers and students. She loves her job! In her few moments of spare time, she is a Jazzercise instructor. She spends her spare time thinking about updating her family blog and looking at her poster of Edward (it never gets old!).
Detroit
Detroit is ELEVEN years old, and getting ready to finish the fifth grade. She still loves to read more than anything. She also enjoys tuning out her parents and her brother when she reads. She is a great big sister, and loves teaching Joaquin how to howl, growl and snarl. She is especially good at making Joaquin laugh and smile, and sometimes she will even let him hold her toys. She enjoys playing basketball and soccer and going to Girl Scouts. Detroit has a very kind heart, and lots of great friends. She is still obsessed with animals and enjoys pretending to be a dog (or a wolf, or a coyote).
Joaquin
Joaquin is FOUR years old. He runs everywhere he goes and particularly enjoys making gigantic messes. Currently he likes putting anything that belongs to me into obscure drawers and locations (e.g. keys in the laundry hamper, my WW shake packets behind the TV, and the list goes on...). He loves singing and torturing our animals (trying to carry them, etc.). He is currently obsessed with superheroes and bad guys. He is a very happy, funny little boy!
Lunchbockie Louie Tuscaloosa Alabama Kallunki
"Lunchie"
We found Lunchie while living in Tuscaloosa. She was a kitten trapped in a deep window well on the University of Alabama campus. I brought her home and Detroit (who was then 3) named her. She is a wonderful, but weird, kitty. Lucky for her that she has nine lives since she has already used some of them (head stuck in between chair slats, jumping on the stove while it was on, getting stuck in a room for four days with no food or water, leaping off a second story balcony and hitting tile, eating lots of fake plants until they all created a giant plastic ball in her tummy...), but she seems to be learning her lesson. (We hope.) Her favorite thing to do is follow Tiesha around the house, and flop on the floor the second Tiesha looks at her.
Alabama Kallunki
"Bama"
We thought Lunchie was weird until Bama joined our family. Our friend found Bama outside when she was a day old. She was raised by a wonderful human mama. We got her when she was about 6 weeks old. She does think she is a human baby and enjoys being burped. She and Lunchie are in love, and I mean that kind of literally. She is an enormous cat and loves to fit her body into small boxes. She also enjoys peeing on our possessions. Lucky for her, we still love her. At least, the kids and I do.
Dexter
Dexter is our newest "stray" addition to the family. A couple of years ago, he showed up in our backyard at 5:30 in the morning...and stayed. He is a pretty good dog (when the terrier in him is not freaking out) and he is really good with the kids. If we could get him to stop jumping our fence, he would be pretty terrific! The kids and I are glad to have him though...just not so sure about Jared.
